Ellen Hartwig Anderson Wolverine Lake Ellen Ann Anderson, 51, of Wolverine Lake, was born to Elwin and Iretta Hartwig December 9, 1964. She passed away, October 13, 2016, after a long battle with cancer. Ellen graduated from Port Huron High School in 1983, from St. Clair County Community College in 1985. She received her Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 1987. She later earned a Master's degree in Finance from Walsh College. Ellen was an ardent student and teacher of the Holy Bible and enrolled at Charis Bible College in 2016. Ellen married Douglas Anderson December 23, 2004. She is survived by: Her husband Doug and three stepchildren, John, Rachel and Samantha (Commerce Twp, MI), mother Iretta Hartwig (Port Huron), sister, Kathie (Mark) Johnson, nephews-Raleigh, Garrett and Carter (Spring Hill, TN). Her son Mark Gottschalk is in the United States Air Force. Predeceased by her father, Elwin F. Hartwig, 2011, grandparents: Judge Elmer E. and Winifred D. Hartwig and Ford R. and Katherine E. Schmuhl. She was a self-employed accountant for many years and loved to travel. She skied in Austria, lived in Japan, hiked in Hawaii and visited Germany. In recent years, she and Doug have cruised several times to the Caribbean. Her favorite activities included kayaking with her dog Katie-Wynn and studying the Bible.
