Elizabeth "Betty" Kyle Forbes Anderson Elizabeth Kyle Forbes Anderson, always known as Betty, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2018 in Austin, Texas. Born on October 8, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Douglas Warren Forbes and Josephine Selecman Forbes. She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Sarah Wayland and Carolyn Norwood. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, where she enjoyed sports and was an avid and accomplished equestrian rider. She went on to Southern Methodist University where her grandfather Bishop Charles C. Selecman served as the third President of the University from 1923 until 1938. She married John M. Anderson in 1950. They settled in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is survived by her five children: Hillary Anderson, Carolyn Anderson, Kyle Gibson, J. Forbes Anderson and Mons Allen Anderson II; Betty has 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was an active member at the Church of the Good Shepherd and was a founding member of Good Shepherd's Corner, a nonprofit store still in existence today. She loved antiques and along with her sister Sarah Wayland owned and operated The Emporium in Corpus Christi. She loved the beach, hunting and her summers in Cuchara, Colorado, But above all People. She was loving and generous to all that had the opportunity to know her and will be greatly missed.
