Betty was born in Chicago, IL to the late Fred Richard Johannes and Ernestine Luken Johannes. She attended Loyola University in Chicago and the Chicago Teachers College in Normal, IL. She taught in the Chicago Public Schools as a classroom teacher and then in later years as an adjustment teacher; most of her teaching years were spent in private tutoring of special needs students. She was a passionate pro-life advocate. Betty moved to Columbia, SC in 1976 with her husband, Walter Joseph (Bud) Braham, and after his death moved to St. George Village in Roswell, GA. Betty is survived by her children Betsy (Richard) Stachelek, Marty (Marian) Braham, Ria (Donald) Barry, Rick (Joan) Braham, and Jeanie (Michael) Myers, and by her sisters, Margery Price and Sister Carol Johannes, O.P. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. Betty was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, and her sister, Marian. Funeral Mass will be Monday, 4/17, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell, GA with visitation an hour before Mass. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, IL.
