1936 - 2016 Tevis, Eleanora Walker, 80, of New York City, formerly of Lochwinnoch, Scotland, died December 9, 2016, at Bellevue Hospital. Eleanora was born in Lochwinnoch, Scotland February 21, 1936, daughter of Robert and Helen Walker. After graduating from the University of Glasgow, she moved to New York City where she worked as an artists' agent. she married one of her clients, Loring Eutemey (d.). After their divorce she worked as a literary agent for the Robert Mills Agency where she met the American writer Walter Tevis (d.). They married in l983. After Walter's death she administered the Walter Tevis Copyright Trust in addition to her role as Secretary to the Free Tibet Committee. Her belief in individual freedom and responsibility guided her life of reliability, honesty and trustworthiness. She is preceded in death by her brother Robert and his son John. She is survived by sisters Sandra Morrison, husband Lindsay, children Stephan and Lindsay, and Freda Bostock, husband Clive, and children Paul, Martin, Simon and Adrian, and John's children Jean and Jason. Her ashes will be returned to Scotland for burial. Memorial donations may be made to the organization Free Tibet or alleycats.org.
