Buhk, Elaine E. Elaine Buhk, age 89, formerly of 908 Hwy. 310, Two Rivers, passed away Wednesday evening, October 12, 2016 at Atrium Post Acute Care Center, Two Rivers (formerly Hamilton Care Center). Elaine was born October 12, 1927, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Oscar and Margaret (Hartl) Baum. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, with the class of 1945. On May 22, 1948, she married William J. Buhk in Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on May 4, 2010. Elaine had worked at several businesses, including House of Fabrics, Buy 'N Large, Affairs to Remember and helped sew costumes for Jean Wolfmeyer Dance Studio. She was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers, UMW Women, served on the funeral committee, a 4-H leader, and was a volunteer with the Lakeshore Visually Impaired Support Group. Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Ann & Jim Sommers, Silver Cliff, WI; Linda Kurtz (special friend Gene Peterson), Two Rivers; two grandchildren: Dr. Kevin (Julie) Kurtz, Middleton, WI; Ellyn (Aaron) Toneys, Eugene, OR; four great grandchildren: Nathan and Lucas Kurtz; William and Leena Toneys; and two nephews: Charles (Mary) Baum, Mazomanie, WI and William (Mary Alice) Baum, White Sulfur Springs, WV; and Kay Baum, Two Rivers. Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, a brother Alfred Baum and two nephews John and Edward Baum. Cremation has taken place and Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Lakeshore United Methodist Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Carly Kuntz with burial of her cremated remains to take place at Knollwood Cemetery, town of Kossuth, at a later time. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, November 12, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent in Elaine's name to Lakeshore United Methodist Church, Manitowoc. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family by visiting The All-Care Cremation Center and Klein & Stangel Funeral Home, Two Rivers is assisting the Buhk family with funeral arrangements. The family wishes to extend a special Thank You to Dr. Smith and staff, and the staffs of Meadow View Assisted Living and Atrium Post Acute Care Center for the care and compassion shown to Elaine and her family.
