Edwin E. Perkins
Perkins, Edwin E. CAMBRIDGE Edwin E. Perkins, 75, of Cambridge, peacefully passed away Monday evening, October 10, 2016, surrounded by his beloved family and friends. Born August 30, 1941, in Clearwater, Fla., he was the son of the late Edward E. Perkins Sr. and Sarah Washington. Ed graduated from Pinellas County Schools in Clearwater. He attended Bethune Cookman College in Daytona Beach, Fla. and earned his master's degree from Rollins College, Crummer School of Business in Winter Park, Fla. Ed was a chemical engineer at N.A.S.A. in Cape Canaveral, Florida for 17 years and when he moved to New York, he worked for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation as a chemical engineer for 30 years, retiring in 2010. Ed was a Pastor for over 40 years and was the current Pastor of the Bachur Fellowship in Salem. His passion was his spiritual belief. He was a devoted and anointed Pastor that inspired countless people from all walks of life. Reading and sharing his knowledge of scripture were very important to him. Ed also enjoyed and loved the beauty of nature and filled his yard with flowers. Most of all he loved his family and brethren dearly. Ed is survived by his wife of 40 years, Ora D. Perkins whom he married on February 21, 1976; his children, Nanzetta (Alvin) Webster, Samuel Perkins, Keturah (John) Trembley and Uriella (Marcus) Graham. Ed also leaves behind a brother, Harrison Washington; six grandchildren, Altwon, Jamaal and Shamika Webster, Immanuel and Gideon Trembley and Selah Graham; three great-grandchildren, Altwon Jr. Webster, Lilliana and Jamaal Jr. Webster and a host of nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be from 3-6 p.m. Monday, October 17, at the Ackley, Ross & Gariepy Funeral Home, 73 West Main St., Cambridge. Memorial services will be Tuesday, October 18, at 11 a.m. at 99 County Rte. 62, Cambridge. The repass will follow the burial.
