Edwin S. Malinowski
Edwin S. Malinowski, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2016, peacefully, at his home. He was born in Erie, on April 24, 1933, a son of the late Stanley J. and Mary Rogowski Malinowski. Edwin graduated from Academy High School in 1952 and went on to serve in the United States Army as a Staff Sargent during the Korean Conflict. He worked at GE for seven years, and then was a pipe fitter for American Sterilizer for 38 years. Edwin was a member of the VFW Post #470. He was an Erie Otters season ticket holder for 15 years, enjoying with his family the last three years with four generations in attendance. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Zetta Rieder Malinowski; and two brothers-in-law, Anthony Lackovic and Charles DeAngelo. He is survived by his four daughters, Carol Bendure (Thomas), Susan Bukowski, Linda Clinger (Garner), and Elaine Wright (Anthony); a son, Edwin Malinowski (Candace); four siblings, Theresa Lackovic, Leonard Malinowski (Gilda), Joann DeAngelo, and Arthur Malinowski; grandchildren, Valerie and David Clinger, William Bukowski (Jamiee), Christopher Bukowski, Sarah Ford (Michael), and Stacey and Duncan Bendure; and seven great-grandchildren, Emmalee and Tyler Westgate, Ethan, Gabby and Greyson Clinger, Zetta Bukowski and Kyra Ford; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 W. 26th Street (at Powell Ave.), on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. Burial is to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery with full Military Honors.
