Edwin Christopher George Brandon Edwin Christopher George, 49, died Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at home. A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 14, 2016 at Fondren Church. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church. A reception will follow at Reservoir Pointe. Chris was born on June 3, 1967 in Jackson and graduated from Central Hinds Academy. Chris played football and basketball, where his team won the 1983 basketball state championship. He continued his education at Mississippi State University and Mississippi College, where Chris earned his Bachelor of Accounting. Chris began his career as an auditor for the State Auditor, Pete Johnson. He later entered his family business, Catering by George's and served as business manager and in many other capacities for over 20 years. One of his many passions was coaching elementary girls basketball at Hartfield Academy. Chris also enjoyed teaching business at Antonelli College. He attended Fondren Church. Chris was preceded in death by a daughter, Allison George. Survivors include: daughters, Tayler George of Oxford and Kaitlyn George of Brandon; former wife, Donna George; father and step-mother, Luther Paul George and Emily George of Ridgeland; mother, Christine Nelson of Clinton; sister, Deborah Marie Campbell and husband Robert of Bolton; sister, Melinda Jean George of Brandon; brother, Luther Paul George, Jr. and wife Laurie of Raymond; brother, James Michael George and wife Liddia of Jackson; brother, Frank Larche of Ocean Springs; brother, Mark Larche and wife Lisa of Raymond; sister, Lisa Caraway and her husband Jody of Starkville and numerous nieces and nephews.
