Edward K. Perkins 1949 - 2016 ST. ALBANS - Edward K. Perkins, 67, died Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, after a period of failing health in Bangor. Ed was born on July 14, 1949, in Hartland, Maine, the son of the late Robert and Henrietta (Goforth) Perkins. He graduated from Hartland Academy with the class of 1967 and went to culinary school. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. Ed had a great sense of humor. He was an excellent chef and was employed by several area restaurants as well as Maine Central Institute. He raised his own Christmas trees and sold them locally. He is survived by his brother, George Perkins and wife, Beverly, of Palmyra, sister, Charlene Leighton of Poland; several nieces and nephews; and his pride and joy, Gunner, his German Shepherd. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Winthrop "Winkie" Perkins. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Route 152, in Hartland with Rev. Glenn Nichols officiating.
