Edward Joseph Laposky Jr.
Edward Joseph Laposky Jr. Laposky Jr., Edward Joseph, 63, lucky in death as in life, passed peacefully in his sleep April 6th 2017 of heart disease. An exceptionally peaceful and loving man, Ed especially loved science, specifically Astronomy and Physics. He was known to pontificate at length about these subjects given the opportunity and a willing ear. He earned degrees in Astronomy, Physics, Mathematics, and Electrical Engineering. Later in life he returned to his love of teaching at Tallahassee Community College - he originally taught as a graduate student at USF in Tampa. In between, he worked in the semiconductor industry where he was both successful and well regarded, then as a private contractor. Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, Ed lived to become an expert in enjoying life. He expounded that he'd done everything he wanted, enjoyed himself thoroughly, and had no regrets. He'd recently finished a solo four-month trip across Europe and had traveled the globe when younger. Although he never married, Ed especially enjoyed women, considering them to be superior beings in many ways. He seldom had a bad word to say, seldom lost his temper, and will be sorely missed by close friends, their children, and women he loved. Ed was highly intelligent, kind to animals, loved motorcycles, music, red meat, sunsets, and the beach. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Sr., and by his brother, Mark Laposky who passed October 5, 2016. He is survived by his mother, Helen Laposky, his sister, Sandra, and her husband, Mark Pickel all from Tallahassee, and many dear friends.
