Edward B. Cornell Jr.
CORNELL EDWARD B., JR. March, 04, 1923 - February 11, 2017. Ed was born in Detroit, Michigan, graduated Cooley High School, and was drafted into the Army Air Corp January 1943. During WWII he served with the 9th Airborn Division working with RAF in England during the blitzkrieg. He arrived at Normandy three days after D-Day and continued on to Paris with his company. After the war he moved to California and was employed by General Motors until he retired. He loved to travel, especially to Europe but always insisted that Yosemite National Park was the most beautiful of all he had seen. He is survived by his brother, James (Diana) Cornell; and several nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Mclean and Alice Wigley.
