Edward Otto Butzke
Edward Otto Butzke, 94, of Lynn Haven, Florida, passed away Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016. He was born in Springfield, Illinois, to Edward and Gradel Theilken Butzke. When Ed was still a baby his parents moved to Los Angeles, California, where Ed grew up. When WWII was declared, he joined the United States Air Corps. After his discharge from the Service, he made his home in Lynn Haven, Florida, with his wife Mary and two children. Ed is survived by his loving wife Mary of 72 years; one son Edward Daniel Butzke and wife Elizabeth Ann; one daughter Mary Carol Streichert and husband Lawrence Edward; two sisters, Martha Trover of Seattle, Washington, and Marlene Webb and husband Charles of Wofford Heights, California. Ed was blessed with six grandsons, twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents. A gathering of family and friends will be observed Friday Oct. 21, 2016, from 1-2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Michael Claunch of Saint Andrew Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 3733 U.S. 231 Panama City, Florida, with military honors conducted at the graveside by Tyndall Air Force Base Honor Guard. Acting pallbearers will be Ed's grandsons, Dan Butzke, Jessy Butzke, Brett Butzke, Matt Streichert, Scott Streichert, Mike Streichert, Kyle Streichert, Tracy Holloman, Reese Upton and Mayito Medina. Honorary Pallbearers are the Men from the Light House Sunday School Class at Saint Andrew Baptist Church. As requested by the family memorials may be made to the Saint Andrew Baptist Church Benevolence Center, 3010 W. 15th St., Panama City, FL 32401.
