Edna Janet Stankwytch Murfreesboro, TN Mrs. Edna Janet Stankwytch, age 93, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was born in Murphysboro, IL to the late Van Henry and Linda Trail Zimmerman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Stankwytch. Mrs. Stankwytch is survived by three daughters, Karen Brown and her husband Andy, Connie Potter, and Sandra Glassford and her husband Mark; six grandchildren, Sally Millsap and her husband Ted, Rebecca Few and her husband Justin, Rachel Lewis and her husband Jeremy, J.D. Kious and his husband Shane McCoy, Lindsey Kious, Megan Heuer and her husband Nick; and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stankwytch was a member of First Baptist Church and a 1944 graduate of Southern Illinois University. She was one of the "Girls of the Atomic City" working in Oak Ridge, Tennessee from 1944 to 1954. She was a member of the Stones River Garden Club, the Woman's Club, and the Democratic Women's Club. She also served on the Oaklands Association Board. Visitation with the family and a memorial service were held Friday at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Stankwytch to the First Baptist Building Fund, 200 E. Main St. Murfreesboro, 37130, the Oaklands Historic House Museum, 900 N.
