Edith "Dude" Horner, 80, of Morristown passed away Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016 at her home, peacefully. She was a member of Lowland Baptist Church. She worked at Helton's Mkt. and Deli and the Canteen at Lenzing Fiber. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. David F. Horner; son, Ricky Horner; parents, Luther and Beulah Helton; mother-in law, Bea Horner and father-in-law Dave Horner; great-grandson, Parker; daughter-in-law, Patricia Horner; sisters, Virginia Gibson, Opal Helton; and brother, George E. Helton. Survivors include sons, David Michael Horner and Ray Chris Horner; daughter, Jamie (Terry) Shipley; grandchildren, Chapman Horner, Brandy McGhee, Jean Ann Horner, Chasity Horner and Billy (Candy) Shipley; 10 great grandchildren; brothers, Joe (Gladys) Helton and the Rev. Billy N.(Cindy) Helton; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Special thanks to Kathy Miller with U.T. Home Health and Amedisys Hospice. The family will receive friends on Saturday Oct. 15 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lowland Baptist Church with the funeral to follow at 1 p.m., with the Reverends Buck Marshall and Matthew Alder officiating with the interment to follow in the Helton-Horner Cemetery.
