Edith Pearl (Hassell) Farrar Griffin, Ind. Edith Pearl (Hassell) Farrar, 84, of Griffin, died peacefully in the comfort of her home Friday, October 14, 2016. She was born on December 12, 1931, an early Christmas present to tent revival parents in the early years of the Pentecostal movement. A lifelong homemaker and farmer's wife, she gardened, canned and became a noted cook. Over the years, she was an active member of several Pentecostal Churches, quilting, cooking, cleaning and most of all, praying. She babysat and spoiled her grandkids with all the love she could give. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James H. Hassell and Fern Louise (Lewis) Hassell; two sisters, Doris Marie Fetzer and Evelyn Jeanette Conklin; and her only brother, James H Hassell, Jr "Richard". She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Vertis Darrell Farrar; one son, James Darrell (Sue) Farrar; three daughters, Glenda Fern (Doug) Jaccard, Regina Ellen (Charlie) Cline, Mary Alice (Jeff) Reynolds; three sisters, Betty Jo Farrar, Brenda Lou (Bob) Guinn and Carolyn Sue Rice; seven granddaughters, Michele (Brian) Wagner, Melody (Donn) Mehringer, Monica (Russ) Sinclair, Amy (Michael) Frymire, Lisa (Jeremy) Turner, Cheryl (Josh) Ibrahim, and Shela (Shea) Smith; two grandsons, Jon (Elisha) Farrar and Gabriel Reynolds; 19 great-grandchildren; and a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the staff at Kindred Hospice for the tender, loving care they've provided over the last two years. Funeral services will be Holder Funeral Home in Owensville, on Thursday, October 20, 2016, at 11 a.m. with burial in Maumee Cemetery.
