E. Jess Holliday
Jess Holliday, 81, passed away on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born to Elvin and Edna Holliday in De Ridder, La., on March 28, 1935. Jess later went on to serve in the Army during the Korean War. He came to Alaska in 1962. He started in real estate in the 1970s, and furthered his career by adventuring into property management. Jess has owned Executive Management Services since the early 1990s until the present. He was a respected businessman in Anchorage for 54 years, and he will be missed by all who knew him. Jess was a strong, kind and hardworking father, brother, grandfather, friend, business associate and boss. Jess had six children, Steve Holliday and family of Anchorage, Michele Powers and family of Anchorage, Ronnie Holliday and family of Springfield, Greg Holliday and family of Newport, Ore., and David Holliday and family of Lewiston, Calif.; brother, Dewayne Holliday; sisters, LaNay Meadows, Charlotte Hensley and Julia Holliday-Sanders; and stepmother, Aileen Waters. He also had 24 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Jess was preceded in death by his parents, Elvin Holliday and Edna Brown; and daughter, Kimberly Holliday. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Legacy Funeral Home – Heritage Chapel, located at 440 East Klatt Road in Anchorage.
