CAPE NEDDICK, Maine - Duane 'Pete' 'Frankie' Peterlin, 79, passed away at his home on Saturday, January 7, 2017, with his wife at his side, after a long illness. Born in Hines, Oregon on June 21, 1937, he was the son of Frank and Eva Peterlin. After graduating from high school he joined the US Navy and served for nine years, he then enlisted in the US Air Force and served in Vietnam retiring in 1975 with twenty years of service. Pete went on to work at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard as a nuclear inspector. Pete enjoyed golfing at Cape Neddick Country Club and Masonic membership. He was a man of many talents who could fix anything. He was an accomplished woodworker who made furniture for his family and friends. Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years Sylvia (Fusegni) Peterlin, son Philip Peterlin and wife Nancy, daughter Lorri Hall and husband Shad, grandchildren Hannah Peterlin, Jake Hall, brother Phillip Peterlin and wife Lorraine, sisters Coleen Clemens, Carol Fugua, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Beverly Ballard. SERVICES: A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, at 11 a.m., at the Farrell Funeral Home, 684 State St., Portsmouth, N.H. Friends may visit with the family after the service. Burial with military honors will be held at a later date in Calvary Cemetery in Portsmouth.
