Douglas Wayne Land
Douglas Wayne Land, 87, passed away on Saturday, October 15. He was born to Elera and Nellie Land on March 23, 1929 in Kokomo.
Doug married Gertrude Betty Jane (Wright) Casler in 1959, and she preceded him in death. Doug served our country in the United States Army. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #82 to the 33 rd Degree and also a member of the Indianapolis Scottish Rite.
He retired from Haynes International after 24 years of service. Doug enjoyed lifting weights, motorcycles and cars. He was a gun enthusiast, a member of the NRA, and was a supporter of the Indian Reservation children.
Doug is survived by his children Dwight Casler Jr.; Barbie Casler; sister Patty Hall (Harold); Reba Casler; niece Gwena Hall; nephew Erlin "Bud" Hall; grandchildren Dwight "Skeeter" Casler III, (Angi), Trenton Casler (Alisha), Charisse Smith (Ron), Aaron Casler (Amy); and seven great-grandchildren.
Services for Doug will be held on Monday, October 24 at 1:00 p.m. at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Doug will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens.
