Pacolet, S.C. - Dorothy "Dot" Harris Sanders, 85, of 303 Asbury Road, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 16, 2016 at her residence. Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of Peeler Felmet "Hambone" Sanders and daughter of the late Clem Andrew Harris and Annie Mae Fowler Harris. She was a 1962 graduate and class president of the Cherokee County School of Practical Nursing, retired from Cherokee County Memorial Hospital, formerly employed by Sherrard-Allen Nursing Home and was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church. She loved her family and friends who enjoyed her cooking skills and beautiful heart. Surviving are a son, Chucky Sanders and wife, Ann, of Gaffney; a daughter, Janet S. Spencer of Gaffney; a brother, Ernie Harris and wife, Angeta, of Pacolet; a sister, Velma Medley and husband, Lee, of Gaffney; grandchildren, Jonathan Spencer and Wes Spencer and wife, Jennifer Cox Spencer; two greatgrandchildren, Drew Spencer and special friend, Kayla Goller, and Marley Spencer; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Graydon Harris, Quitmer Harris, Andrew Harris, Sam Harris, C. A. Harris and Billy D. Harris and two sisters, Mary Mathis and Elsie Fowler. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 in the Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Angelia Price officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
