In memory of
Dorothy Wynne Trigg
Dec 7, 1935 - Oct 14, 2016 Mrs. Dorothy (Peachy) Wynne Trigg, age 80, died after a very long battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born December 7,1935 in Savannah, GA and moved to Birmingham as a child, attending Mt. Brook Elementary School, Shades Valley High School, and the University of Alabama. She worked as a volunteer at University Hospital (Birmingham) one summer where she met her future husband. Peachy was the daughter of Evelyne Knight Wynne and Albert Edwards Wynne, Jr., both deceased, and had one brother, Albert Edwards Wynne, III (Kay), both deceased. Her 1st son, John Walden Trigg, IV, died in a tragic drowning accident in 1973. Peachy is survived by her husband, Jack Walden Trigg, Jr., her son, James Albert Trigg (Aruna Sharma), as well as her nieces Katie Lane Kirkland (Peter) and Evelyne DeLong (Bill), and their children. Peachy was a very devoted member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church where she became a Stephen Minister under the influence of The Rev. Joy Phipps and her good friend, Tina Darnall. She loved this ministry and was quite attendant to her care receivers as well as her continuing supervision. Remarkably, Peachy overcame her terrific grief issues sufficiently to be a productive wife, mother, and a most loving person. This took years of great effort, but she did it. She loved the quotation from Sir Walter Scott "Years ago my heart was broken and although the pieces were handsomely put together, I shall bear the cracks until I die." She felt that while nothing could compensate for the loss of her son that the realization that adversity was part of life helped her be a much stronger, sensitive person. Burial will be at Elmwood cemetery in a small private service. A Memorial service will be conducted at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, October 18, 2016, visitation 10-11 followed by a memorial service at 11. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 3736 Montrose Road, Birmingham, AL 35213, www.saint-lukes.com ; CJFS/CARES 3940 Montclair Road Ste 205, Birmingham, AL 35213, jfs@cjfsbham.org; or a charity of your choosing.
