Dorothy E. Prillmayer
Dorothy E. Prillmayer, 102, of Mount Sterling, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Heritage Health, Therapy and Senior Care, Mount Sterling. She was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Brown County, a daughter of William Austin and Gertrude McDonald Keith. She married Joseph A. Prillmayer on April 11, 1936, in Bushnell, and he preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1989. Mrs. Prillmayer was a homemaker, and, along with her husband, owned and operated Prillmayer Meats in Mount Sterling and Hersman for several years. She attended Brown County Schools and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Mount Sterling. Mrs. Prillmayer was also a member of the Holy Family Women's Guild and the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1281 Auxiliary. Dorothy always enjoyed bowling and was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. Survivors include three children, James "Jim" J. Prillmayer (Pat) of Lakeland, Fla., William "Bill" F. Prillmayer (Donna) of Springfield and Agnes Mowen of Mount Sterling; nine grandchildren, Lynn Pannell, Jeffrey Prillmayer, Joseph Prillmayer, Lisa Mitchell, Debbie Prillmayer, Mike Prillmayer, Luann Ham, Kim Newton and Sheila Gieker; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Edna Bond and Mary Houston; a son-in-law, William "Bill" Mowen; and a grandson-in-law, Jon Ham. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Mount Sterling, with the Rev. Steve Thompson conducting. Burial will be in Mount Sterling Catholic Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Hendricker Funeral Home, Mount Sterling. A prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
