DOROTHY J. FRARY
DOROTHY J. FRARY, 95, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at River Terrace Retirement Commu nity, Bluffton. Born Jan. 24, 1921, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Jesse and Nellie (Muhl) Neff. Dororthy retired in 1983 after working as a long distance telephone operator with GTE and Bell. Dorothy was a community activist for animal rights, and initiated the first low-cost spay-neuter clinic in Fort Wayne, served on the Animal Control Commission, and received local and national honors for her work. She also was active with the Democratic Party, as precinct committeeman and president of the Democratic Luncheon Club. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church for 62 years, and Local 5803, Communication Workers of America. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Frank D. Frary of Bluffton; and a grand nephew, James McOmber of Arlington, Va. Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, in McMillen Chapel, with calling beginning at 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
