FRANKE, Dorothy Dorothy Jane McCrabb Franke, age 99, died Easter Sunday, April 16. She was one of seven children born to Maris and Grace McCrabb in Dayton, Ohio. on November 30, 1917. Her husband, Arthur Henry Franke, preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by her three sons, Arthur Maris and wife Nancy, Michael Douglas and Marc Anthony and wife Cheryl. She was blessed with four grandchildren, Brian Douglas Franke, Anne Franke Locatelli (Joseph), Peter Anthony Franke (Rachel) and Dorothy Franke Coffman (Justin). She was equally blessed with four great grandchildren, Mia and Joseph Locatelli and Elowyn and Vera Franke. After the loss of her husband, Dorothy went on to graduate with a B.S. and M.S. from Wright State University. She was also a columnist for the Urbana Daily Citizen under the pen name Carrie Champaign. Dorothy lived on a farm by St. Paris, Ohio for about 30 years and retired to Bethany Lutheran Village in Dayton, Ohio for about 25 years afterward. Dorothy Franke was active all of her life as a writer, speaker and voter on important, social issues; touching many lives in many ways.
