Clark , Dorothy M. April 29,1921 - October 6, 2016 Dorothy M. (Jordan) Clark - April 29, 1921 – October 6, 2016. Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, she graduated from Pittsfield High School in 1940. She married Ray Clark, a classmate from school in 1943. Both work for GE, Ray as a mechanical engineer and Dorothy in Protection Equipment Products. 10 years before having children they had the time of their lives; a cottage on Lake Champlain in Vermont; vacations in Key West and Siesta Key. They loved life and each other. After their two children were born, Debra and then David five years later they continued having a grand time traveling, joining a square dance club and spending as much time at beach in Lewes, Delaware as possible. Dorothy loved animals and was the neighborhood "vet" caring for all walks of life, injured or not. She was very involved with the Berkshire Garden Club where she was on the board for many years, winning awards for her flowers and flower arrangements. Moving to Englewood, Florida permanently in 1981, she and Ray enjoyed their boat and fishing in Lemon Bay. A very devout Catholic she enjoyed working on the church bulletins at St. Raphael's in Englewood. She was very active in community activities, and was Mrs. Santa Claus for downtown Dearborn Street Holiday events. She enjoyed life, was every so grateful and a very happy person. She always had a kind word for everyone she met. Dorothy leaves a daughter Debra Clark Maradiaga of Sarasota; a son David A. Clark of Englewood and two grandchildren in Massachusetts. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 22 at 125 Degas Dr. in Nokomis from 1-4 pm. Arrangements entrusted to Your Traditions Cremation and Funeral Chapel www.yourtraditionsfuneralhome.com
