DOROTHY A. CHERRY
Ms. Dorothy Ann Cherry departed this life at Retreat Hospital, Richmond, Va., on Tusday, October 11, 20116. She was born on December 28, 1954, in Chesterfield, Va., to the late James Edward Cherry and Rodie Alston Cherry. She attended Chesterfield Public Schools, and was a graduate of Thomas Dale High School. At an early age she confessed Christ as her savior. She was a former employee of Lucy Corr Nursing Home, Chesterfield, Va., and Hopewell Convalescent Center, Hopewell, Va. Dorothy's warm smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her brothers, James Cherry and Larry Melvin Cherry; and her nephew, Andrew Smith. Left to treasure precious memories, her mother, Rodie Cherry of Hopewell, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Emilie Cherry of Hopewell, Va., (James) and Janet Cherry of Hopewell, Va.; three brothers, Nathaniel B. Cherry (Judith) of Dinwiddie, Va., Bobbie J. Cherry (Claudette) of Chester, Va., and Richard A. Cherry (Sharmeyne) of Hopewell, Va.; two sisters, Viola B. Jones (John) of Chesterfield, Va., and Virginia C. Friend of Chester, Va.; six nieces, six nephews, three great-nieces, three great-nephews, and a host of devoted cousins, other relatives and friends. Services for Ms. Dorothy A. Cherry will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 13721 N. Enon Church Road, Chester, Va., Rev. Marcus Leggett, pastor, eulogist.
