In memory of
Freundlich, Doris Doris Freundlich, longtime Stamford resident, at 69 years passed away of pancreatic cancer. She is survived by many beloveds: husband Lester, father Alexander Kayne (95yrs) sister Fran Kayne (Adrienne), daughter Andrea Aviles, grandchildren Lia, Elric, and Arwen, and her step children Sharon and Marc. She is predeceased by her mother Ruth (who along with her husband Alex was a World War II veteran). Doris was very involved in helping others, whether it was her family, friends or the Stamford community. She went the extra mile for her clients at the Social Security Administration where she worked for over 30 years before retiring; doing everything within the bounds of the law for her clients even when bureaucratic requirements required her to close a file before it was ready. Doris fought valiantly in her battle with cancer, with the knowledge that cancer sucks and is given inadequate research and attention, and with the hope that for the next generation ,there will be cures and better treatments, and with the hope and expectation that some of that may come from Israel, a country she loved visiting and strongly supported. Doris also loved knitting and seeing her grandchildren ice skate. Rabbi Mark Golub will officiate at the funeral, which will be held at Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue (203)359-999 on Sunday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Unionfield Cemetery in Ridgwood NY. Shiva plans will be determined. To send condolences to the family, please visit www.gallagherfuneralhome.com
