In memory of
Dorene Halford
(Huber) Halford 10-07-1935 ~ 2-15-2017 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorene Sara (Huber) Halford. She passed away peacefully in her sleep from a long battle with cancer. She faced her last days with the same optimism, strength, and vigor she had her entire life. Dorene truly lived a full life. She was a mother, father, den-mother, coach, mentor, travel guide, self-made woman, but most of all an amazing grandmother and great-grandmother. As a voracious reader and a predecessor to Google, she was a wealth of knowledge and wisdom to all. Being a single mother of four and at times working two jobs, she always made it a priority to attend every ball game, practice, school play, choir recital, and even volunteered at the Rape Resource Center. She overcame many difficulties and found a way to make the most out of the hand she was dealt. She drastically impacted many lives and will be dearly missed by many. Dorene was the oldest of six children of George and Katherine Huber. She was married to David Halford and later divorced. She is survived by her siblings George (Ivey) Huber, Jerry Huber, Peggy (Glen) Nielson, Karen Huber; her children Lisa (Darrell) Evans, Eric (Chris) Halford, Curtis Halford and LuAnn Halford; her 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren-all of whom were her favorite. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Leo Huber, her sister Kathy Delapalaine. She is now with her son Ryan Halford whom she was eager to see once again. Her Celebration of Life service will be held at the Oasis Vineyard Church (1750 W Carriage Square, 4160 S) at 3pm on Saturday, February 18th.
