In memory of
Donna Spencer Igo, CA On October 10, 2016, Donna Luana Spencer (better known as "Tutu") passed away peacefully, while comforted by her husband and two sons. Donna was 72 years old. Born in Hawaii on May 31, 1944, Donna moved to California as a toddler and spent her childhood and teenage years in Woodland, CA. She was a 1962 graduate of Woodland High School and worked as a file clerk at Woodland Memorial Hospital. It was in Woodland where she met her husband, Gil Spencer, who she would celebrate over 54 years of marriage. The couple moved to Shasta County in 1967, first in Redding and then settling in Igo (Gil's hometown) in 1973. After the birth of their two sons, Donna became an active community member. She volunteered at her sons' school, coached their little league baseball teams, and participated in pretty much all of her sons' activities. In 1980, Donna began her work as an office administrator with Happy Valley Union School District until her retirement after 25 years. She also served as a member of Soroptimist International. Once retired, she and Gil remained active, traveling the continent with their close group of friends. Everything was better with Tutu. She was an amazing woman who was loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Donna is survived by husband - Gil; children - John (Jennifer) and Ryan (Sara); grandchildren - Jack, Cole, Macaela, and Broderick; and father - Donald Lewis. Services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Peterson Gymnasium, Igo-Ono Elementary School, 6429 Placer Road, Igo, CA. Please sign the guestbook at http://obits.redding.com
