Donna M. Goodman 1955 - 2016 ROME - Donna M. Goodman, 60, of Rome, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on October 21, 1955, in Rome, the daughter of Robert and Theresa Grago Martin. She was a graduate of Rome Free Academy. On December 7, 1991, she married James Goodman. Donna worked at the Griffiss Air Force Base Hospital from 1984 until its closing in 1995. She went on to work at Rome Memorial Hospital from 1996-2014. She had previously worked at several nursing homes in the Utica/Rome area. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She loved antiquing and buying and selling on EBAY. She will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. Surviving besides her loving husband, Jim, are her mother, Terry Martin, of Rome; a daughter and son-in-law, Nikki Ann and Ray Walters, III, of Rome; three sons, Rodney Pease, of Rome, James Goodman, Jr., of Rome, and Jesse Goodman, of Lakeport; two stepchildren, Allison Goodman, of Alabama, and Christina (Tom) Reynolds, of Georgia; two sisters, Corinne Murray and Linda Heard, both of Rome; two brothers, Robert Martin, Jr., and David (Rhonda) Martin, all of Rome; seven grandchildren, Zoey, Darci, Andriana, Connor, Logan, Katie and Julian; a special family friend, Mary Miner; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Robert Martin, Sr., and her beloved grandparents, Joseph and Josephine Grago. Donna's family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses, dietary staff and chaplain at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare and to Hospice and Palliative Care for their wonderful care and compassion. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church. Interment will take place in St. Peter's Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to call at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc., 418 N. George St., Rome, on Monday from 4:00-7:00 PM.
