Donald A. Lapierre
DONALD A. LAPIERRE 1960 - 2016 MANCHESTER - Donald A. Lapierre, 56, of Manchester, died Friday Oct. 14, 2016, at his home with his family at his side. He was born in Augusta, Sept. 28, 1960, the son of the late Donald A. Lapierre and late Theresa (Bolduc) Noble. He grew up in Augusta graduating from Cony High School in 1978. Donald is survived by his wife Sharon (Smith) Lapierre; his children, Amy and Travis Lapierre, Ean Laflin, who was like a son, Nicholas Drayton and Bridget Drayton all of Manchester; Jason and wife Andrea Drayton of Norridgewock; his brothers, Rodney and wife Kellie Lapierre of Windsor, Mark Noble of Washington D.C., sister Rita Cain, of Windsor; grandchildren, Jo-Hanna, Cory, Alex, Emma, Keegan, Riley, Jace, and Zane; several aunts, uncles; cousins; nieces and nephews. Donald lived in the Augusta area his entire life, but lived in Manchester more than 20 years. He worked different positions for the State of Maine over several years, retiring disabled, as a maintenance mechanic in 2004. His family and home were his world. He spent hours in his garage tinkering. No matter how much of a struggle, you would find him working on Travis', Ean's and even their friends' dirt bikes. He took great pride in fixing what others couldn't. Donald put on mile after mile transporting kids, often going out of his way to bring someone home. He enjoyed gardening and had an especially "green thumb". Family time was spent at the hockey rink or the race track, until he was no longer able. Donald was a devoted, loving husband and best friend, father and grandfather. He will be sadly missed forever. Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016, at the North Manchester Meeting House, Scribner Hill Road in Manchester, where a funeral service will take place after the visitation, beginning at 1:00 p,m. Burial will follow in the Scribner Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, One Church Street, Augusta.
