Donald Thomas Cashion, M.D. Virginia Beach - Donald Thomas Cashion, M.D., 67, A prominent Virginia Beach physician passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 9, 2016, in his home in the North End where he lived for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julia. He is survived by his daughter, Caroline Dallas Cashion, and step-daughter, Alexandra Caroline Huffman; identical twin brother, Ronald Edward Cashion, and his wife, Janet Payne Cashion, and their daughter, Margaret Lee Cashion of Alexandria; and brother, Herschell A. Cashion, and his wife, Barbara of Dallas, TX; niece, Anne Cashion Heckman of Wolcott, Colorado, and nephew, James Cashion of Dallas, TX. Born on October 11, 1948 to Thelma Dallas and Herschell A Cashion, Sr., and raised on Glendale Road in Hampton, VA. He attended Hampton High School, Class of 1966, graduated from Virginia Tech and The Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. He was a highly respected Emergency Physician/Trauma Specialist and was among the founding physicians of Emergency Physicians of Tidewater. In later years, he was a physician with Patient First Urgent Care. Dr. Cashion was a Board Certified Physician in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice and Geriatric Care. His legacy of Love for God and family, The Commonwealth of Virginia, America, The South, beloved friends and acquaintances, Virginia Tech, Virginia Beach, and Tidewater. His academic and professional achievements will live on ...forever. May we all be humbled and honored by his devotion to God, family, patriotism and traditional American values, exemplified by his hard work and successes and through so many who loved him dearly. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at the Laskin Road Chapel of H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach, 300 36th St., Virginia Beach, VA. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park on Warwick Blvd., Newport News, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Department of Biological Sciences at Virginia Tech.
