Bailey, Donald 95, of Scottsdale passed away on 9/6/2016. Donald Bailey was born February 5, 1921 in Pennsylvania. Don joined the Army where he received the Medal of Valor for his bravery as a B24 pilot in WW2. When Don left the army, he settled in Phoenix, and worked as a superintendent for Mardian Construction Co. He was a lifelong member in good standing of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. Don loved to build things and often made unique handcrafted furniture for his friends and family. He married Anne Hogan in 1977 in Mesa, and remained married to her until her passing in 2016. He loved to read about American History and to watch WW2 shows on the History Channel. He also enjoyed spending time with his wife and his cat, Gabby. He was preceded in death by his sister, Miriam, and his wife, Anne. He is survived by his children, Michael Scanlan, Tony Scanlan, and Trish Scanlan, his grandchildren Megan O' Leary and Kate Scanlan his great grandchildren Colin, Connor, and Norah O'Leary and his cat Gabby.
