Donald Adams Loudon, TN Donald G. Adams, age 84, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Don moved back to Atlanta from Loudon, Tennessee. He was a loving Father and Grandfather and his kids and grandkids were the most important thing in his life. Don's career association was with AT&T, Pacific Telesis, and AirTouch Cellular. His career moved he and his family to Birmingham, Memphis, Nashville, Jackson, Miami, Jacksonville, New Orleans, New York, Atlanta, and Dallas. Don honorably served in the Air Force from 1951 to 1954. In retirement, Don enjoyed time with family and friends, and was an avid golfer and boater. He enjoyed being nominated and serving as the Commander of the Tellico Cruising Club and being a long-time member of the Double Divots Club. Don was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Ruth Headden Adams (2005) and his mother, Mary Cecilia Adams (2000). He is survived by his children, Gray (Atlanta), Clay and wife, Melanie (Indianapolis), Patrick (San Diego), Julie (Atlanta), Lee Ann (Wilmington, NC) and husband, William Fuller; grandchildren; Kelsie, Sammy, Sarah, Rachel, Julia, and Graycen; sister, Diana Whitaker (Nashville); and her son, Mark Mayo and his family. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St Thomas Church the Apostle Catholic Church in Lenoir City, Tennessee, the funeral mass will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church. We would like to invite you to celebrate his life with his kids, at the Tellico Village Yacht Club, following the mass. The burial service will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Nashville, Tennessee on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Afterwards, we invite you to celebrate his life, with his kids at Acme Feed & Seed. Don's pallbearers are: sons, Gray, Clay, and Patrick, Sammy Adams, Mark Mayo, Ed Green, and Bill Langford. His honorary pallbearers are: Bill Ferris, Tom Ritchie, Sam Ginn, Charlie Strong, Sam Campbell, Cliff Fletcher, Zac Mayo, Drew Smith, Hunter Ellen, William Fuller, Tom Burns, the men of the Tellico Cruising Club, the Former Commanders Club, and the Double Divots Club.
