Oct. 6, 1937 - Oct. 12, 2016 OKLAHOMA CITY Donald David Roberts, 79, died Oct. 12, 2016, in Oklahoma City, OK with his loving wife, Chris, by his side. Don was born in Chandler, OK to Roy and Bessie Mae (Gilliam) Roberts on Oct. 6, 1937. He served in the National Guard and was married to Terry Roberts for 38 years. Of this union were born three sons. He earned his CPA license through work experience and formed the public accounting partnership, Engelbach Roberts & Co, with Jay Engelbach. In 1997, he married Christine Holth Garretson, and they remained together until his death. He was preceded in death by his son, David Dale in June 2015. He is survived by wife, Chris, of the home; brother, Larry Roberts & his wife Phyllis, of St. George, UT; sons, Timothy Dean Roberts & his wife Mary, and Paul Damon Roberts, of Oklahoma City; and by his in-laws from Michigan, who loved him. In his youth, he loved motorcycle riding, traveling through at least thirty states, and teaching his sons the love of biking from an early age. He was quiet and soft-spoken with a dry sense of humor that was appreciated by his close friends and especially by his family in Michigan. Memorial Services will be held Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. at All Souls' Episcopal Church, Chapel of St. Mary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Don's name to his favorite charity, The Guild of St. George, Inc., 127 NW 7 St, OKC OK 73102.
