Don Tout Parkinson, 78, of Rexburg, died Feb. 12, 2017 at his home near Sugar City, ID. He was born Dec. 17, 1938 in Rexburg, ID to Ross and Alice Parkinson. Don attended Madison High School. On April 5, 1961, he married the love of his life, Melba Furniss. In their early years of marriage, he worked on the family farm in Moody, Idaho. During these years, their two children (Kathy and Allen) were born. Later they moved to Rexburg, where they retired together. After retirement they enjoyed long car rides, bird watching, fishing, photography and going out to breakfast. They were always together. When the grandkids came along, they helped raise them while their mom worked. He loved spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. He took a lot of photos of them and loved playing with them. He is survived by his son Allen; daughter Kathy (Russel) Heath; grandchildren Danielle (Matt) Swensen, Robert (Amanada) Noelle, and Sarah (Dexter) Walker. Great-grandchildren include Gage, Charlette, Ryan and Jace Swensen, and Violet Walker. He also had two great-grandchildren on the way in 2017. He is also survived by brother, Ross Parkinson Jr., and sister, Hazel Parkinson. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ, behind Broulim's in St. Anthony. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Teton Newdale Cemetary. Family and friends will meet back at the Chruch of Christ for a luncheon.
