DOLORES JEAN (BRENNAN) RESCHKE
Funeral mass for Dolores J. (Brennan) Reschke, 85, is Friday March 17, 2017 at 10 AM at Santa Maria del Popolo Chapel, 116 N. Lake St., Mundelein, IL. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Visitation is 4-8 PM Thursday at Kristan Funeral Home P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein. Dolores was born April 25th, 1931 in Herkimer Kansas to James and Anna Brennan as the youngest of 10 children. She died peacefully on March 13th, 2017 after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family. Dolores married the love of her life Ernest Reschke in 1950 and shared 59 wonderful years of marriage. Together they raised 6 children and provided foster care to four children. Many of the neighborhood kids referred to her as their second mom. She held numerous jobs while raising her family including working at the Benedictine Convent of Perpetual Adoration in Mundelein, IL. There she assisted making Hosts, and teaching the nuns to drive. She retired after 25 years from the Libertyville Fire Department where she worked as an administrative assistant to the chief and was a founding member of the Illinois Fire Service Administrative Professionals. She was the first woman to join the Libertyville Fire Dept in 1970. She was a beloved friend, mentor, and mother figure to many of her co-workers. In 2002 she and Ernie moved to Sun City, AZ to enjoy the warm weather and each other. Dolores returned to IL in 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Ernest Reschke and her son Greg Reschke. She is survived by her loving children James (Gigi) Reschke, Mary Ann (Tom) Wiznerowicz,Susan (Thomas) Grazier, Robert (Tana) Reschke, Teri (Gary) Grossi, daughter-in-law Pam (Greg) Reschke, 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The only thing better than having her as our mother was our children having her as their grandmother. Our mother taught us everything except how to live without her. Forever in our hearts, and never forgotten. Those desiring to make contributions can make them to Dolores' favorite charities. The Society of the Little Flower, 1313 N.
