Dolores Ann Lavimoniere Johnson Nashville Dolores "Del" Johnson passed away Saturday, October 15, 2016 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Violet Lavimoniere of New Bedford, Mass. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Amaral and Richard Lavimoniere. Del was active in the Girl Scouts in Marlboro Mass, and here in Nashville. She was an avid band booster and served on the Harold D. Cooley Library Board as President for two terms. Del was also a member of the Friends for several years, charter member of the Bookworms Book Club, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was president of the first Registered Nursing Program at Nash Community. Del spent her nursing career working at Nash General Hospital and Nash Day Hospital until retirement. She leaves her husband, Chuck of 59 years, three children; Jo-Ann Johnson (Ronnie) of Henderson, Karen J. Fincher (Darryl) of Oakboro, Charles A. ( Chuck) Johnson III (Shannon) of Raleigh; four grandchildren, Todd Johnson, Kelley Johnson, Sydney Capousis and Devan Fincher; brother, Donald Lavimoniere (Evelyn) of New Bedford; sister, Barbara Braithwaite of Falmouth, Mass; several cousins, nieces and nephews, also some very special friends in New Bedford, the Netherlands, Raleigh, Marlboro, Plymouth, Spring Hope and Nashville. Visitation will be held Monday, October 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Cornerstone Funeral Home of Nashville, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Harold D. Cooley Library @ 114 West Church Street, Nashville NC 27856.
