Dillard Franklin Wright 9/5/1954-4/5/2017 As the sun set over spring blossoms in the orchards of the Sacramento Delta, on the evening of April 5, 2017, Dillard Franklin Wright left this Earth and is on to greater adventures in the next life. In his 62 years on this planet, he had a good run. That's because he'd already lived about 10 lives or 620 years in the life of an average man. Dillard did not live an average life. He traveled where he wanted to travel, laughed inappropriately at every chance, learned what he wanted to learn, fixed what he wanted to fix and loved who he wanted to love. His memory lives on through his daughters Rebecca and Julie; and his son Dillard Randall. As young kids, his numerous grandchildren became enchanted with "Cowboy Papa"
no surprise there. He is survived by his loving parents Jack and Doris Wright as well as his brother Jack and sister Penny. He leaves behind countless friends, co-workers, and family who loved him. He was never overly sentimental, but he would want you to know that if he owes you a beer, and if you can find him in Heaven, he will gladly allow you to buy him another. Expect to find an old hound dog passed out at his feet. Unlike previous times this is not a ploy to avoid creditors or ex wives. His larger than life character leaves behind a giant hole in our hearts, endless stories and memories of adventures that others could only dream of and a legacy as unique as the legend he is. A celebration of life is scheduled for Sunday, April 23 at Noon at the Veteran's Memorial Hall in Foresthill, California.
