Dec. 23, 1952 - Oct. 6, 2016 OKLAHOMA CITY Diane Lynn Myers, 63, of Oklahoma City, passed from this life at her home around Sept. 24, 2016. Mom was born on Dec. 23, 1952, in Detroit, MI to Dorothy and Danny Smith. In 1979, Mom went to work at the General Motors assembly plant in Oklahoma City when it first opened and retired from the Wentzville, MO plant in 2009. Although being an assembly worker for 30 years was a hard and monotonous job, Mom took pride in that it gave her the ability to give us kids opportunities she never had growing up. Mom always enjoyed being a "do-it-yourselfer," usually with multiple projects going at any given time. She loved the music, movies, cars, anything really, of her childhood. I think those things made Mom think of the simple times and a simple life. Later in life, Mom owned a Harley-Davidson Sportster, and although we weren't allowed to have motorcycles as kids, she sure enjoyed riding hers. Other hobbies were working in the yard and doing crossword puzzles. Mom loved her family, and, though distant at times, was loved by her children and grandchildren. Some of her biggest smiles were the ones when she held her grandchildren for the very first times. She is survived by son, John Van Rosendale & wife Sheila, of Newcastle, OK; daughter, Julie Webb, of Mustang, OK; son, Jeremy Van Rosendale & wife Patty, of Mustang, OK; daughter, Jennie Leibrock & husband Paul, of Mustang, OK; her grandchildren, Halee Brooke, Kyle Dean, Allison Paige, McKenzie Joyce, Emily Diane, Gage Boomer, Caden Sooner, Austin James, Aubrie Brianne, Tatum Allyn, and Sydney Allyn; one great-grandchild, Olivia Grace; brother, Jerry Smith & wife Carol, of Mustang, OK; brother, Ray Smith, of Macomb, OK; sister, Kathleen Greer, of Oklahoma City; sister, Kat Smith, of Norman, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Myers; father, Danny Smith; mother, Dorothy Greer; sister, Carol Carter; and brothers, Danny Smith, Berry Smith, and Jim Greer. A Celebration of Life Service for Diane will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main Street in Moore, OK.
