Thorman, Diana Kay Diana (Diane) Thorman September 12, 1956 - October 5, 2016 Diana passed away while in hospice care in her cherished home city of Grand Rapids. She suffered a stroke in May, 2016, and worked valiantly in rehabilitation during the months that followed. After additional medical complications she bravely requested hospice services and was cared for by her many friends and colleagues during her final days. Diana was raised in Dryden, Michigan, on the family dairy farm owned by her parents William "Bill" and Adelaide "Addie" (LePard), both deceased. The youngest of four children, she is survived by her beloved sisters Nancy (Garry) Pittman, Linda Homeyer (Dan), and brother, W. Frank Thorman (Becky). Also surviving are her niece Amanda Harvath (Courtney) and nephew Greg (Hollie) and their families. Diana graduated from Dryden High School, Central Michigan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and Kendall College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She was employed as a designer by Steelcase, Inc., of Grand Rapids and most recently by Haworth, Inc., of Holland as a designer and Surface Materials Marketing Manager. Diana enjoyed decorating her home, loved her gardens, and sports car. She enjoyed dining out with her friends, attending art exhibits, and bragging about her adopted-home city of Grand Rapids. She will be sadly missed by all her friends and co-workers in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Holland, Michigan, where she had lived and worked for many years. At her request, there will be no services. She will be buried in the family plot in the Dryden cemetery at a date to be determined. Diana loved the Grand Rapids Museum of Art and the Meijer Gardens. Gifts in her name at either of these are suggested as a memorial.
