Diana S. Slusser
Diana Louise Schneider Slusser, 71, passed away March 13, 2017 in her home with family by her side. Diana was born June 3, 1945 in Charleston, WV and lived there until 1978. She graduated from Morris Harvey College (U of Charleston) with a degree in history. Diana and her husband, Daniel, were married over 43 years and lived in Charlotte nearly 37 of those years. Diana is survived by her husband Dan, three sons: David (Cheri), Rob, and Brian (Delaine) and three granddaughters: Sarah, Claire, and Ellie. Diana and Dan were blessed to have their families live nearby. They visited frequently and always enjoyed each other's company. Diana was a homemaker devoting her time to her husband and children. She enjoyed raising violets and watching and feeding wild birds. Her devotion to her hobbies was over several decades. Diana enjoyed many friends including some from her days in the high school band. She was known for her kind and caring ways and never met a stranger. Though kind and caring, she still enjoyed an occasional harmless prank on a family member. Diana was devoted to her parents, Dan and Geneva Schneider, whom she helped care for until they passed. Diana had a sister, Linda Honeycutt of Charlotte, and brother, Dan Schneider (Wendy) of Lusby, MD, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Several considered Diana as a second or "favorite" mother. The family wishes to thank Hospice & Palliative Care and Susan Cureton for the support given during this 2-week illness. Funeral is Thursday, March 16, at Living Saviour Lutheran Church 6817 Carmel Road, Diana's home church of 35 years. Visitation begins at 11:30 with the Celebration of her Life beginning at 1:00 p.m. with a reception following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Humane Society of Charlotte, Living Saviour Church, Camp Luther, WV or a Charity of your choice.
