In memory of
Deno Pappas
Constantine D. Pappas, MD was born (May 16, 1973) and raised in Colorado. He loved his state and his family so much that in spite of many acceptance offers and opportunities, he chose to complete both his undergraduate degree and medical training at the University of Colorado. He completed his internship at St. Joseph Hospital and his residency at University of Colorado Hospital. After being recruited by every hospital he rotated through during his training, Deno began his career in private practice with Denver Spine and developed treasured relationships with his partners, staff, patients and colleagues. In 2012, with the help of his wife Myrna, he started his own practice where he committed his heart and soul to helping his patients at Denver Spine Specialist. It was a success, which is no small feat in today's healthcare environment, until he was diagnosed with an aggressive blood cancer. It was a shock to all who knew him given his dedication to his own health and fitness. Deno was relieved of his suffering on April 14, 2017 after a two and a half year battle with leukemia. Although, he always said a battle with cancer isn't a fight at all because that would imply you actually have a say in the outcome; it's really a test in how much you can endure. And he endured an unspeakable amount. He leaves behind a large circle of family, friends and dogs whom he loved with all of his heart and who considered him the strongest, smartest, most courageous and empathetic person in the world. There wasn't anything he couldn't do or fix or figure out, until this. The world has lost a bright shining star with the biggest heart and so much to give, never asking for anything in return and our lives will never be the same. Deno received countless transfusions and an unheard of four stem cell transplants.
