DENINE V. GORDON-RICHARDSON
Mrs. Denine Veronica Gordon-Richardson, 50, affectionately known as "Bird of Paradise" of 217 Liberty Street, Petersburg, Va., departed this life on Thursday, April 13, 2017, at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg, Va. Denine was born October 20, 1966, at the Naval Hospital Philadelphia to Robertenette "Diana" Copeland. She was a graduate of Soesterberg American High School and Community College of Philadelphia. She was employed as a Clerk for Councilwoman Augusta Clarke. She also was employed at numerous customer service centers. Upon relocating to Petersburg, Va., she united with the Tabernacle Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr. Denine enjoyed art, poetry and cheerleading. She was preceded in death by her father, Thair D. Gordon; grandmothers, Elouise Gordon and Sadie Copeland-Burns; and grandfathers, Robert Copeland and Bob Burns. Denine is survived by her husband, Burt J. Richardson; children, Thair D. Gordon, Robertenette D. Gordon and Devine L. Davis; stepchild, Kenny Young; grandchildren, Devine Davis, Jr., Destynii Davis, Damari Davis, Mikayla Gordon, Deyonna Davis, Deondre Davis and Jeremiah Gordon; mother, Robertenette "Diana" Copeland; stepmother, Gee "Mel" Gordon; grandfather, Bennie Gordon; siblings, Darrin Gordon, Steven Gordon, Ekkatuth "Wick" Gordon, Cha-on and Michel Pascua-Gordon; special devoted friend, Gerald Sumlim; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and longtime friends. Services for Mrs. Denine V. Gordon-Richardson will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 418 Halifax Street, Petersburg, Va., the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., Pastor. eulogist. In lieu of floral arrangements the family request that monetary donations be made to the J. M.
