DELAWARE — Delorice May Yank, 94, of Delaware, passed away late Friday evening, Oct. 7, 2016, at the Bennington Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marengo. She was born June 10, 1922 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to the late Frederick Preston Grogg and Matilda (Marshall) Grogg. She worked many years for Accuray in Columbus. In her younger years, Delorice enjoyed dancing and bowling and more recently cake decorating, but she was happiest spending time with her children and grandchildren and talked of them often. Ornery but sweet, she was a very caring, nurturing and selfless woman; but also strict. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim (Sandy) Yank of Columbus, DiAnna (Doug) Crowl of Sunbury and Pamela (Victor) Olszewski of Delaware; 11 grandchildren, Jimmy and Tim Yank, Shane, Rob and Rick Wagner, Ken Crowl, Amanda Isganitis, Amy Allan, Kris Olszewski, Melissa Price, and Victor Olszewski; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews with whom she remained close with. In addition to her parents, Delorice was preceded in death by her husband Robert whom she met on a blind date; her brother, Sylvester Grogg; and 3 sisters, Charlotte Hunter, Ruby Wilson and Midge Maple. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2016, from 5-8 p.m. at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive (formerly 1510 W. William St.), Delaware, and where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2016, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Columbus.
