Nov. 7, 1923 - Feb. 2, 2018 Woodland Delores Kareofelas passed peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Feb. 2. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Jim who died on April 12, 2009. Delores was the daughter of Lester and Eleanor Kline. She was born on Nov. 7, 1923 in Monrovia, CA and was a lifelong California resident. She spent her early years in Southern California and graduated from Burbank High School. While working for North American Aviation, she met and married Jim Kareofelas. The family moved to Woodland at the end of World War II. A lifelong, devoted Catholic, Delores was a member of Holy Rosary Church until she and Jim moved to Knights Landing where she became a member of St Paul's Church. She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed. Survived by her sisters, Grace Prueter and Eleanor Kinsella (Frank); sister-in-law, Georgia Scribner; son, Greg Kareofelas; daughters, Sue Russell, Jean Kareofelas (Romie Holland) and Patti Neary (Don); 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Except when he was in the military, Jim and Delores were never apart now they are once again together. Delores was a wonderful mother and her children referred to her as the "Best Mother Ever", which always brought a big smile to her face. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, William and David Kline; sisters, Rita Sauer and Mary Kocher. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to St Paul's Catholic Church, Holy Rosary Church, or a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be Monday, Feb. 12 at 1 p.m., at Kraft Brothers Chapel, 175 Second St., graveside to follow at St. Josephs Cemetery.
