Deborah J. Nye, 53, of Scott Twp., passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore. Her husband of 18 years, Jeffrey Nye, survives. She was born in Johnson City, N.Y., to the late William J. Barton. In addition to her husband, also surviving are her parents, Richard and Ruth (Bergman) Hunsinger; five children and significant others, Joseph M. Blackwell, Jamie and Joe McLean, Jeffrey Nye Jr., Jessica Nye and fiancé John Mercado, Nicole Nye and Carissa Crews; three granddaughters, Skylar Nicole and Scarlett Rae Mercado, Molly Addison Link; six siblings and their spouses, William Barton, Stacy and Matthew Merrell, William Hunsinger, Richard and Luanne Hunsinger, Leonard Hunsinger, and Karen and Scott Haley; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her family, Deb leaves behind her fur babies, Bella and Annabelle. Debbie was a loving wife and mother, whose granddaughters were her pride and joy. She enjoyed gardening, and loved to hunt and fish alongside her husband, Jeffery. Debbie's battle with cancer was the most courageous anyone ever endured. Friends called on the family on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, 232 South Main St., Montrose, PA. The family would like to thank Hospice of the Sacred Heart for their care and compassion for Debbie.
