David C. Mulby
David C. Mulby, age 73 a longtime resident of Concord, died Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at Hospice House, Cleveland. David passed away at Hospice House after struggling with renal cell cancer for the last 17 years. He was born August 22, 1943 in East Cleveland. David graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in 1961 and Ohio State University in 1965 with a B.S. in Industrial Psychology. At the time of graduation from college David proudly received his Armor Commission in the US Army. David was assigned to the 4th Infantry in the Vietnam War and received a Bronze Star. Upon discharge from the US Army David joined the family business in 1969. David was Executive Vice President/Partner of American Beauty Ceramics, Willoughby, OH. The family business was sold in 1990 and David retired. David is a member of Quail Hollow Country Club and Crooked Creek Conservation Club. David was an avid boater and competitive skeet shooter and a member of Mentor Harbor Yacht Club for 28 years. In college David received the Western Conference Rifle Champion in 1965 (Big 10). David enjoyed fishing at Lunge Lodge in Canada during the summer and spending his winters in Bonita Springs, Florida. David also enjoyed hunting, biking, running and riding his motorcycle. David lived his life to the fullest staying active to the very end. As his family would say David was a son, brother, father, husband, cadet, soldier, college grad, successful businessman, yachtsman, marksman, hunter, conqueror of alcohol, bicycle enthusiast, historian, patriot and friend to many. Survivors include his beloved wife of 25 years, Darlene (Simms) Mulby; children, Daniel (Stefanie) Mulby, Bradley Mulby and Lisa (Robert) Addis Zax; grandchildren, Aaron Delvis, Alexandria & Shea Mulby and Madison Grider; brother, Byron (Kay) Mulby; nephews, John V. Mulby and Steven L. Mulby; cousin, Jonathan Lake Martin. Preceding David in death is his father, Leslie Mulby; and mother, Zita (John) Boden.
