David Laubacher Orangevale, CA David Lawrence "Larry" Laubacher, age 60, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2016 in Orangevale, CA following a courageous seven year battle with early-onset Alzheimer's. Larry was born on February 2, 1956 at St. John's Hospital in Oxnard, the fourth child of Richard and Kathleen Laubacher. He graduated from Santa Clara High School in 1975, followed by two years at Moorpark College, and in 1979 graduated from CSU Humboldt. Football was his mainstay through high school and college. Following graduation Larry returned to Oxnard, joining Pacific Beverage where he worked for 28 years. Larry is survived by daughter Lindsay Smith of Ventura; son Scott (Athena) Laubacher of Ridgeway, Colorado; grandsons Michael Smith and Tristan Laubacher; sisters Vicki (George) Price of Moreno Valley, Kitty Laubacher of Elk Grove, Cindy Laubacher of Roseville, Sharon (Noel) Boothe of Berwyn, PA, and brother Rick Laubacher of Roseville, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jeff. A close second to his kids, Larry loved Notre Dame football, John Wayne movies, and golf. His BBQ babyback ribs were his signature dish. Larry, and his BBQ ribs, will be dearly missed. A special thanks to All Seasons Residential Living in Orangevale, CA for the loving care provided to Larry. A recitation of the rosary at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. will be held on Friday, October 21st at Santa Clara Church, 323 South E Street, Oxnard. A private burial at sea will be held the next day. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzhiemer's Association.
