David Lee Knotts NEWARK: A funeral service for David Lee Knotts will be held at 1pm, on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at the Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home, in Newark. Family and friends may call from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, on Tuesday, at the funeral home, 985 N. 21st Street. Burial will follow at Newark Memorial Gardens, where the Licking County Veterans Alliance will present Military Funeral Honors. Mr. Knotts, age 87, of Newark, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Selma Markowitz Hospice Center, in Newark. He was born December 3, 1929, in Dakota, West Virginia, a son of the late Orval and Freda Marie (Glover) Knotts. He was a veteran of both WWII and the Korean War, serving in both the Unites State Marine Corps and the United States Navy. He had retired from Kaiser Aluminum where he had worked as a pipe fitter. Mr. Knotts had been a member of the Kaiser Retirees, American Legion and the Eagles and Moose Lodges. He enjoyed mall walking in the afternoon with his companion Freda. Surviving are his soulmate and life companion, Freda Eleanor McCullough; his children John Knotts, Jani Knotts, Joyce Knotts, Barbara Johnson, and 11 grandchildren, Joshua Carver, Jessica Tolley, Amanda Green, Hayley Knotts, Hannah Knotts, Heather Knotts, David Elliott, Howie Smith, Annie Knotts, Brooke Knotts, Jacob Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
