David H. Ferricks Sr.
David Ferricks Sr., 68, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, in the comfort of his own home. He was born April 27, 1948, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Charles and Mildred Shaw Ferricks. Mr. Ferricks was a Vietnam veteran who proudly served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and Pennsylvania Air National Guard. His military and civilian expertise included advanced automotive, industrial and aircraft mechanics. He was actively involved in the community. He was a member of Northland Church in Longwood, Fla., and dedicated his life to assisting others. He made many treasured friendships as a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels. Mr. Ferricks enjoyed caring for his family, friends and pets. He leaves to cherish his memory a daughter, three sons, a stepson, eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Surviving are son David Ferricks Jr. (Brandy); son Daryl Ferricks (Patricia); daughter Christina Ferricks; son Jeffrey Ferricks (Kimberly); and stepson Richard Odato; brother Charles Ferricks; sisters Mildred (Lee) Jones and Joyce Carroll; and devoted companion Ella Gallegos. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are brother Earl Ferricks; sister Rose (Ferricks) Brooks; and brother Ronald Ferricks. A service with military honors will commence at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 27, in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. A celebration of life service will be scheduled for family and friends in Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be directed to Meals on Wheels ETC., www.mealsetc.org .
